More about the project
Enerwoods was a four year (2011-2015) Nordic research project financed by the Nordic Energy Research with nine partners. The prime objective of this project was to strengthen the role of Nordic forestry as a significant contributor to the development of competitive, efficient and renewable energy systems. The goal was to combine energy systems and biological systems to optimise the complete bioenergy chain considering primary energy use and greenhouse gas emissions.
The project consortium had participants from Norway, Denmark, Finland and Sweden and included four work packages. Linnaeus University was the leader of the WP3, which dealt with strategic analyses and optimisation of woody biomass energy systems.
The project was part of the research conducted by the Sustainable Built Environment Research (SBER) research group.
