A large number of Swedish apartment buildings were built during the Million Homes Program around 1965-1975 and are projected to undergo major renovation within the coming years. This project deals with the development of a robust methodology for economic analysis of building energy efficiency measures and investigates the profitability of comprehensive energy efficiency measures for multi-story residential buildings built during the 1970s, in Ronneby, Southern Sweden. The considered renovation measures include additional insulation to basement, exterior walls, roof and hot water circulation pipes; improved windows; energy efficient appliances and lighting; efficient water taps; and installation of exhaust air heat recovery units in ventilation systems.
The project aims to generate knowledge on the significance of different building envelope measures and economic-related parameters in achieving deep-energy savings for existing buildings needing renovation. The project is conducted by the Sustainable Built Environment Research group (SBER) at Linnaeus University. It is running between 2015 and 2021, is partly funded by GodaHus and involves cooperation with Ronnebyhus and Växjöbostäder.
