Article about noise in timber buildings

Impact induced noise in timber buildings is one area that researchers from the Department of Mechanical Engineering are involved in. Jörgen Olsson defended his PhD within this area of structural dynamics/acoustics last year, with Andreas Linderholt as supervisor.

Jörgen and Andreas have now published the article Measurements of low frequency impact sound frequency response functions and vibrational properties of light weight timber floors utilizing the ISO rubber ball online at ScienceDirect.com. You may download the article here (available for free until 28 May 2020).

Jörgen and Andreas have also published the article Low-frequency impact sound of timber floors: A finite element–based study of conceptual designs online at SAGE Publishing and Building Acoustics.
