I am a fiction writer, and since 2021 a lecturer in creative writing on an artistic basis. I am also, since July 2022, Head of Subject for Creative Writing together with my colleague Cecilia Davidsson, and Vice Head of the Department of Film and Literature since July 2023. I am active as editor of the Art works section of the journal Art, Culture and Entrepreneurship.
I made my debut in 2006 with the short story collection Brist, which was awarded Carl Johan Vallgren's prize for younger writers, and was nominated for Borås magazine's debutant prize. The short story "Sekund", which is part of the collection, was nominated for the Swedish Radio Short Story Award 2006. Since my debut, I have published five novels, including Vårt gemensamma liv, which was nominated for the Swedish Radio Novel Prize. Kidnappningen - En släktberättelsen was a great critical and commercial success. The latest novel, Is this me? was published in 2022 and was warmly received by readers and critics.
From 2010 to 2016, I was the artistic director of Skrivarakademin in Stockholm, as well as the brand manager for Skrivarakademin in Sweden. I am also a trained violinist and worked as a freelance musician from 1990 to 2006 in many of Sweden's most prominent orchestras and in independent chamber music groups.
In 2018 I was awarded the Ilona Kohrtz Scholarship by the Swedish Academy.
Teaching
I teach creative writing and am responsible for Creative Writing II (30 credits). The core of the teaching is design, language, style and genre issues in the genres covered by Creative Writing II: novel, short story, poetry and drama. As a tutor, I work mostly in the prose of fiction: short story and novel.
Research
I am part of the editorial team of the journal ACE - Art, Culture and Entrerpreneurship, and am responsible for the Artworks section. In the Artworks section, we publish artistic works and artistic research that investigate, question and shape enterpreneurship as a concept and method.
