My core research and teaching interests encompass stylistics, Conceptual Metaphor Theory, embodied aspects of reading literature, and applications of Cognitive Grammar to literary analysis. I am currently investigating creative multilingualism and gesture as communicative resources in YouTube performance poetry.

I earned my PhD at the University of Tampere, Finland in 2014 with a thesis on embodied metaphors in Dylan Thomas's works. In 2025 I was awarded the Title of Docent in English. I'm also a trained secondary teacher of English and have a diploma in Creative Writing.

I am a member of Linnaeus University Centre for Intermedial and Multimodal Studies (IMS).
