Research

My research interest is learning processes (in mathematics and programming), what students learn and how conditions for learning are created in the classrooms. The theoretical perspective is based on phenomenography/variation theory. I have examined the gap between theory and practice by means of iterative processes and I use the iterative processes in learning studies. I also used activity theory for analyzing the material. I have focused on the use of educational design research to contribute to the knowledge base about improving learning and teaching in real life contexts. I use a post-qualitative methodological philosophical perspective to illuminate the relationship between teaching strategies for designing adopting examples and learning in new ways in the classrooms. I Would like to provide research-based knowledge derived from the results of studies conducted by researchers in combination with teachers’ proven experiences.
