I am a postdoctoral research fellow in the department of Design + Change. As a researcher, educator, and designer, my primary interest is in redesigning new ways to eliminate textile waste. My work spans various scales, from individual craft, to classroom, community, and ecosystems, in search of relational and transitional spaces for sustainable Change. I practice textile mending as an artistic method to explore sustainable design and textile care, as well as systems mapping to visualize the interrelations and complexities. My earlier work in the apparel industry, including research design and development, product design, and change management, informs my approach to complex issues. Textile design with a focus on social and envirionmental impact has evolved throughout my education from my PhD from the School of Design at Carnegie Mellon University, my MS in Organizational Change and Sustainability Strategies from the New School for Social Research, my BS in Organizational Change and Behavior from New York University, and my AAS from Fashion Institute of Technology.
