Emil is a qualified teacher of English and French and has worked at Linnaeus University (former Växjö University) since 1999. Emil has studied in Sweden (teacher training), Great Britain (European Studies), France (language teaching) and Bolivia (teaching practice).
Emil teaches English at the undergraduate level but also supplies contract teaching. He normally teaches modules on the Teacher Education Programme, for future primary as well as secondary school teachers, but has also provided a number of courses on university pedagogy at Lnu. Emil has experience of teaching abroad, e.g. in France, The Gambia and Japan. He is co-ordinator for English courses and school practice within the Teacher Education Programme.
From 1 January 2017 Emil is a part-time research student in English, specialising in Swedish English teachers' assessment of pupils' production of texts written in English.
Emil is coordinator of Teacher Education courses, including teacher training in schools, for the Department of Languages. He also coordinates study abroad programmes for students interested in studying at one of our many partner universities.
During 2009, Emil worked on a committee for the Swedish National Agency for Education on writing the new national school curriculum for English and modern foreign languages which has been in use from 2011.
Emil has many years of experience within the area of coordinating international possibilities, for faculty as well as students, on practical as well as strategic levels. E.g. it could be mentioned that he has developed, together with colleagues, methods of ensuring quality in study abroad programmes.
