Emil is a qualified teacher of English and French and has worked at Linnaeus University (former Växjö University) since 1999. Emil has studied in Sweden (degree in teacher training), Great Britain (European Studies), France (language teaching) and Bolivia (teaching practice).

Teaching

Emil teaches English at undergraduate as well as advanced level courses, but he also supplies contract teaching. His teaching interests cover e.g. language teaching theories and methods, assessment of language teaching, and classroom leadership. He normally teaches modules on the Teacher Education Programme, for future primary as well as secondary school teachers, but has also provided a number of courses on university pedagogy at Lnu. Emil has experience of teaching university courses abroad, e.g. in France, The Gambia, Switzerland and Japan. 

Commissions

Emil is director of studies for teacher education courses, including teacher training in schools, for the Department of Languages. He also coordinates study abroad programmes for students interested in studying at one of our many partner universities.

Emil is also collaboration officer for school-university contacts within the secondary school teacher training programme. 

During 2009, Emil worked on a committee for the Swedish National Agency for Education on writing the new national school curriculum for English and modern foreign languages which has been in use from 2011. He also works for the National Agency's school development programme called Cooperation for a Better School.

Emil has many years of experience within the area of coordinating international possibilities, for faculty as well as students, on practical as well as strategic levels. E.g. it could be mentioned that he has developed, together with colleagues, methods of ensuring quality in study abroad programmes.
