Hafijur Rahman is doing a third cycle study at the Department of Health and Caring Sciences, Linnaeus University, Sweden (Ph.D. ). He worked as a researcher at the Domestic Violence Prevention Research Team, Department of Social Work, University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh. His research interests are gender-based violence, prevention of domestic violence through primary interventions. He also worked as a research assistant, data collector, Intervention staff, Fieldwork manager, and researcher in several international research projects.

Research

Hafijur Rahman is doing his research to explore the determinants of wife abuse and to assess the efficacy of community based intervention to reduce wife abuse in the context of rural Bangladesh. This research included three ethnic communities: patriarchal ethnic minority Santal, matrilinial ethnic minority Garo, and patriarchal mainstream Bengali community.
