Heidi holds a PhD in Business Administration, with a specialization in international business/entrepreneurship. Her interdisciplinary research draws on the fields of international business and entrepreneurship, with a current focus on the sharing economy and the internationalization of companies - sharecoms - operating within it. She has published on topics such as internationalization, entrepreneurial orientation, business models, and business ecosystem. Her work appears in high ranking publications such as Journal of Business Research.
She has participated in top international business and strategic management conferences (e.g., AIB, EIBA, AOM), and reviewed for Academy of Management and Academy of International Business, receiving the Best Reviewer Award in 2021. She is an editorial board member for Long Range Planning.
She teaches on a variety of business, international business, and entrepreneurship-related courses, at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. She is also Programme Director for the BSc International Business programme, and acting Programme Director for the MSc International Business Strategy.
In addition to her PhD, she holds an MSc International Business Strategy, an MA English Language Teaching/Applied Linguistics, and a BA (Hons) Business and Marketing. She has a CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) accredited by Cambridge University, and a TEFL-Q (diploma in teaching English as a foreign language) awarded in association with The British Council. She is also a certified corporate trainer.
Before moving to Sweden, she worked in academia and industry in the UK. She has taught in several high-ranking universities, and worked with Fortune 500 and FTSE 100 companies, as well as small and medium size enterprises and start-ups, in training and consulting roles.
