My research interests lie mainly in the area of cognitive linguistics, with special focus on semantics. My doctoral thesis (2010) outlines and develops a theory on creation of meaning, focusing in particular on the roles that adjectives play in this creative process. In the last few years I have, furthermore, developed a keen interest in the area of translation, my main focus here being the conscious implementation of established translation methods, compared to subconscious use of intuitive dittos, in translation from English to Swedish. My teaching involves a wide range of courses in English linguistics and language proficiency on all levels up to, and including, the master's level. I also teach translation from English to Swedish, and supervise master's theses on the Non-fiction Translation Master Programme.
