My research concerns art theory and art history; history of alchemy, the “black arts”, the “arts of fire,” and the relation between art and science; encyclopedics, information managment, bibliography, and book history. Current research is focused on the concepts of 'readymade' and 'fake', indexicality and theories of representation as well as/in connection with art historiography. I have a personal weakness for sixteenth-century Netherlandish art, Soviet Conceptualism, Marcel Duchamp, Chinese Ink Painting, and “bureaugraphics,” which is a concept of my own, conveniently subsuming all of the above.
