Jesper Augustsson | lnu.se

I am a associate professor in sports science and a specialized physiotherapist with a focus on sports medicine. I have been working at the Department of Sports Science at Linnaeus University in Kalmar since February 2016. Previously, I worked at the Department of Nutrition and Sports Science at the University of Gothenburg.

Teaching

I teach subjects such as exercise physiology, strength training, and sports medicine.

Research

One of my research areas is strength training. Firstly, as a way to improve performance, secondly, from a health promotion perspective, and thirdly, how strength training is used in the rehabilitation of various injuries and diseases.

Another research area I focus on is sports medicine, where I am particularly interested in rehabilitation after reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament in the knee joint.

Commissions

I have been a part of the Editorial Board for the journal Sports since 2023, where I serve as an Academic Editor.
