Joacim Hansson teaches at the Bachelor Programme in Library and Information Science and the Digital Humanities Master Programme.

- Knowledge Organisation, primarily classification research.
- Document Studies, primarily on digital respresentation of cultural heritage documents and artefacts.
- Library Research, primarily on institutional identity of various types of libraries.
- History and philosophy of library and Information Science.
