Joel Martinsson is a PhD candidate in Political Science at Linnaeus University. Previously, he has positions as visiting graduate fellow at Edmond & Lily Safra Center for Ethics and the Greene Lab, Harvard University, and as a visiting research fellow and a committee officer at the Swedish Parliament.
His research interests are in political ethics, theory, and research methods. He tends to ask questions about the roots of (i)legitimacy, (in)efficiency, and (un)trustworthiness of democratic institutions. In his dissertation "The Ethics of Politics: Virtues, Vices, and Dilemmas in the Swedish Parliament" (Monograph) he combine these interests by asking in what ways, if at all, ethics understandings influence politicians' reasoning in political dilemmas.
