I was born and raised in Hong Kong where I got my RN in 1981. I studied acupuncture and got my acupuncture examination in China 1984. I moved to Sweden in 1988. In Sweden, I got my nursing license 1991, examinations as intensive nurse 1994 (Växjö); public health nurse in 2001(Lund), a master degree in Health Science 2004 (Växjö). Most of my nursing practice has been carried out here in Sweden as a District Nurse in different communities. Besides that I also run a private acupuncture clinic in Växjö since 1992. I started to research at the School of health Sciences (IVOSA) in Växjö University in 2006. My research phenomenon is “The caring relationship between professional caregivers and patients”. I got my Phd degree in April 2013. The thesis of my doctoral thesis is called “The Symphony of Caring” (original title is Vårdandets symfoni). The empirical studies in this thesis were carried out in China and Sweden with the aim to describe the caring relationship as a phenomena. The greatest passion in my life is to travel and to meet people from different cultures. Intercultural and interpersonal meetings are phenomena that have been interesting to me all my life and so are the phenomena that I have chosen to explore in my research. In my free time I like to cook, to take photos and to take various courses. Since I am not a sporty type, I prefer to stimulate my sensory feelings and my brain instead. Since 2014 I also work as the international coordinator in my institution.
