Katarina Schenker studies ontological and epistemological educational related decisions in sport contexts. She also studies how the bodies of the pupils are constructed and normalized (or not) in physical education teacher education students Bachelor/Master theses. Her interests concern inclusion and exclusion of children and youth in PE, as well as in the state funded Swedish sport movement. Her research pinpoints how and why teachers' presumptions and teaching logics, like the one of competitive sport, act excluding on some children and youth.

Additionally she investigates the relationship between sport and social entrepreneurship in the context of the Swedish sport model and Swedish sport policy.
