My research is grounded in the Nordic context of education and sports policy. To examine the circumstances surrounding the inclusion/exclusion of children and youth, a structured methodology for reflection is essential. This reflective approach is founded upon the conceptual tool - the anatomy - which I developed during my doctoral studies. Key areas of focus include:

  • Understanding the language used in physical education and health, as well as developing researchers’, teachers' and students' subject language.
  • Exploring the concepts of inclusion, exclusion, health, ethics, and social justice within teacher education and the school subject of physical education and health. Additionally, examining their relevance in other educational sports and physical activity contexts, particularly within the Nordic sports and educational policy landscape.
  • Developing a methodology for analysing physical education from an equality perspective

Additionally I investigate the relationship between sport and social entrepreneurship in the context of the Swedish sport model and Swedish sport policy.

Since July 1, 2023, I hold the position of Professor of Sports Science specialising in pedagogy at Linnaeus University. I have been affiliated with Linnaeus University since 2012. Before that, I was employed at Lund University from 1997 to 2000 and at Malmö University from 2000 to 2012.
