Koraljka Golub is a lecturer and a researcher in the field of digital libraries and information retrieval. Her research has in particular focused on topics related to information retrieval and knowledge organisation. She has become responsible for the LIS-programme from Spring term in 2016.

Koraljka takes part in teaching both campus and distance courses at Bachelor and Master levels in Library and Information Science, which includes the interdisciplinary Master programme in Cultural Sciences.

She is course responsible for the following courses (and teaches on several others):

  • Knowledge Organisation 2: Digital Libraries;
  • Research Methodology 2;
  • Information Practices;
  • Library, users and society I.

Koraljka has been researching in particular topics related to knowledge organization, integrating existing knowledge organization systems with social tagging and/or automated subject indexing, and evaluating resulting end-user information retrieval. Koraljka is currently looking into possibilities of promoting collaboration across departments and faculties and striving towards establishment of new research and educational cross-discipline axes. She has a keen interest in the Big Data initiative started at LNU and seeks to further this to other ´hot´ research areas, in particular Digital Humanities.
