I work at the Section for Higher Education Development. I support student literacy development in an advisory capacity, by supporting students directly as well as offering support for university staff.
My background is in Swedish and English Linguistics and Teaching Swedish as a Second Language. I have previously worked with SI, university students with special needs, talking book production and other library duties, young people in Church contexts and more. As a text supervisor, I have supervised and taught thousands of students from various disciplines and I always learn something new. I am particularly interested in how vocational programmes work with students' communicative skills in preparation for their future professional roles. I have lectured and led seminars on language learning at professional development initiatives for university teachers and work placement supervisors.
Our lectures, consultations and more resources are available in our open Moodle course room, Academic Skills Centre. All students and staff at Linnaeus University have access to connect.
Text supervisors at the Section for Higher Education Development have a consulting role. Our guidance is a complement to the departments' own knowledge environments. We are not authorized to examine students or provide subject-specific guidance during, for example, thesis writing. Each department has to make sure that students understand learning outcomes, assignment instructions and teacher feedback.
We gather broad expertise within Swedish and English language didactics, special education, and second language development. We participate in networks and seminars that relate to current research and we collaborate with other institutions to strengthen students' chances of successful literacy development.
I am currently on leave of absence, pursuing doctoral studies. Please direct any requests to my colleagues within the section.
