I have my background from the National Sports Confederation and have been working in the regional organization Jämtland/Härjedalen, in Swedish University Sports Federation and the Swedish Equestrian Federation. Graduated in physical therapy in 1984 and after graduation I worked as a clinician for over 20 years, most recently as an ergonomist/physiotherapist in the air force base at Frösön. I took the degree as a PhD in Sports Medicine at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, 2003 and completed post-doc studies in Griffith University, Australia in 2006-07 and the Vårdal Institute in Lund in 2008-09. I got the position as an Associate Professor in rehabilitation science at Lund University and Mid Sweden University in 2008, and further to Professor of Sports Science at Mid Sweden University in February 2011. I am employed at Linnaeus University as a professor of Sports Science since July 2017. I am a double specialized physiotherapist with focus on Sports Medicine and load Ergonomics. My research and publications are in area of public health, Physical activity, prevention, sports medicine and rehabilitation.
