Matilda Davidsson
Senior lecturerI am a senior lecturer in comparative literature and a member of Linnaeus University Center for Intermedial and Multimodal Studies. My research concerns representations of animals and environments in digital games.
Teaching
I teach on some Bachelor's and Master's courses within Comparative Literature and English Literature, with a focus on intermediality and digital media, for example, Digital Narratives, Intermedial Ecocriticism, and New Media Cultures.
Research
My doctoral project, Animal Encounters in Play: Multimodal Configurations, Nonhuman Agency, and Interspecies Ethics in Digital Games (2021-2025), was about representations of animals in digital games. I combine multimodal game analysis with empirical ecocritical research. I also have an interest in how the climate crisis is portrayed in games and in feminist perspectives on research.
