I am university lecturer and Asociate Professor at the Department of Building Technology since April 2016. I came to Linnaeus University in 2012 and started as a Post-Doc.

My background is in Austria where I received my Master's degree in Civil Engineering from the Vienna University of Technology. Thereafter, I worked as a structural engineer within steel constructions before I returned to university and received my PhD.

Teaching

During my years at Linnaeus University, I was involved in a number of courses, both at the Master and the Bachelor level, amongst them, steel and timber construction, surveying, analysis of structures and project courses. I am also course responsible and examiner in other courses.

Additionally am I (and have been) supervisor for Thesis works, both at undergraduate and graduate level. You find a list of thesis works with my involvement as supervisor or examiner on DiVA. Get in contact if you're interested in a thesis within my fields of interst!

Since 2018 I am also program coordinator for the engineering program at the bachelor level.

Research

My research deals mainly with wood, wood products and connections of different types and at different length scales, both experimentally and numerically.

I am involved in projects regarding load-bearing timber-glass composites which aim at using glass as a load-bearing material in combination with wood buildings. I ahve also been project coordinator for the sub-project Biobaserade skivmaterial (Bio-based board material) within the project Framtidens byggande och boende.

At the moment, I am mostly working with monitoring of buildings and elements. There, we develop suitable systems for structural health monitoring whereby moisture, temperature, vibrations and displacements are measured. The main focus is on timber structures, CLT in particular.
