I have been working in software development since 2005: as a web developer, data scientist, independent consultant, researcher, startup engineer and teacher.
I love technology for the power it gives me to create a "wow"-feeling with my work. I’m passionate about diversity and sustainable development, fascinated by biology and can be strangely consumed by statistics.
Teaching
At LNU I have been responsible for the following courses:
In my previous lives I have also taught "Introduction to programming", "Software Carpentry for reproducible research", "Scientific programming in Python for Computational Biology".
I love teaching engineering and always on a look out for better ways of doing that. I think the future of engineering education is project-based, integrated learning where educators act as facilitators. I aim to foster critical thinking, creativity and real-world problem-solving skills in my courses.
Research
My research background is at the intersection of data science and medical applications.
My current work explores how IoT can drive digital transformation and foster sustainable growth, particularly in the context of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
I am especially excited for the opportunities it creates in e-health and sustainable development.
