Per Strömblad teaches political science and conducts research on differences in political attitudes and behaviour.

Per Strömblad's main research interest lies in influences of structural conditions on political participation, with a particular focus on topics related to migration and integration in multicultural societies. He studies, among other things, discriminatory consequences of housing segregation in terms of opportunities for democratic involvement and interpersonal trust. He has also investigated how differences in living conditions can affect institutional trust, political tolerance, and xenophobia.

In recent years, Per Strömblad has also coordinated an interdisciplinary collaboration initiative at Linnaeus University on migration and integration issues.
