Biologist and environmental analyst working with the University's third mission, collaboration. Analyses and evaluates the state of the environment in the coastal areas of the Baltic Sea within national, regional and local environmental monitoring programmes. These programmes involve regular sampling and often have a long time series, making it possible to track changes over time. Responsibilities include designing and implementing inventories and measurement programmes, collecting and analysing data from vegetated seabeds, coastal fish and benthic macrofauna.

I also deal with issues of biodiversity, nature values, human impact, and the spread of invasive alien species in the coastal environment. I am involved in several action programmes aimed at restoring and improving the situation of threatened species and habitats in the Baltic Sea.

I work above, as well as below the water surface, using techniques including remote sensing, scubadiving and drop video.
