Sven-Olof Collin is teaching within the subjects of corporate governance and accounting, but above all he is supervising master's dissertations within the corporate governance, accounting and auditing. He is also supervising doctoral students.


His research is focused on corporate governance. His previous research was focused on ownership issues and leadership recruitment, where the Swedish corporate groups and municipal corporations were examined. Since then, he has been including the roles of accounting and auditing, and the importance of governance in terms of the ability to develop the corporation.

Today, his research is focused on ownership strategies, that is, how the owners form their governance through the usage of the different governancing mechanisms that are at hand. Today, the empirical objects also includes family businesses and financial analysts.

Sven-Olof is a member of the research group Corporate Governance at Linnaeus University. The research group is composes with researchers from different areas of research, with a common interest for issues concerning corporate governance.
