The award Alumnus/Alumna of the Year
Linnaeus University will hand out the award “Alumnus/Alumna of the Year” to one of our alumni who has made significant contributions through his/her career or in other way is considered worthy of special recognition by Linnaeus University.
Nominations for the Alumnus/Alumna of the Year award can be submitted by anyone with an affiliation to Linnaeus University; students, members of staff, alumni, collaboration partners, and friends of the university.
Nominations for the award can be submitted on an ongoing basis by sending an email to alumn@lnu.se. The winner will be announced at the Scholarship Ceremony in Växjö on 8 December.
Criteria for the award Alumnus/Alumna of the Year
Who can nominate?
Nominations can be submitted by anyone with an affiliation to Linnaeus University; students, members of staff, alumni, collaboration partners, and friends of the university.
Who can receive the award?
The following criteria should be met by the person who is nominated:
- The alumnus/alumna must have studied at Linnaeus University (or at Kalmar University College or Växjö University)
- The alumnus/alumna should have excelled in his/her career, made valuable contributions after completion of studies, or something else that is worthy of special recognition.
- It is considered additional qualification if the alumnus/alumna has been well established in Linnaeus University’s operations or in student life during or after his/her studies.
Who appoints the Alumnus/alumna of the Year?
Decision on who will be awarded the Alumnus/Alumna of the Year award is made by the pro-vice-chancellor, following proposal from a preparatory body consisting of representatives from the Office of External Relations and Linnaeus University’s alumni coordinator.

Nominations for the award can be submitted on an ongoing basis by sending an email to alumn@lnu.se.
