Do you want to enter the Swedish labour market but feel insecure about how it works and how to get a job in Sweden? Then the Job Ready Programme might be for you! The Job Ready Programme is an activity for international students and international PhD students at Linnaeus University who aim to stay and work in Sweden. You should be interested to work outside the academy. The programme gives the participants an insight in how the Swedish labour market works and how to apply for jobs in Sweden. To apply you need to be a student or Phd student during the autumn semester of 2023.

What is the Job ready programme?

The job ready programme is an exracurricular activity for international students and international PhD students at Linneaus University. The programme consists of nine occasions where we talk about the Swedish labour market, how to apply for a job in Sweden, how to write a CV and cover letter for the Swedish labour market and much more. The goal is that you will be prepared and feel more confident to enter the Swedish labour market.

The programme is not a guarantee that you will be offered a job.
Participants are expected to put time and effort into the program, you should have the opportunity to participate in each meeting.
The program will not give you any credits and is given apart from your studies.
You will receive a certificate that you have participated in the programme (to get the certificate you need to have had a high presence).
All meetings will be in English and located at campus in both Kalmar and Växjö.
There is a limited amount of participants that are selected through the application process.
The programme is of course free of charge.

Who can apply?

If you are an international student or an international Phd-student during autumn 2023 at Linnaeus University and are planning to stay and work Sweden in the future, you can apply for the Job Ready Programme. You should also be interested in working outside of the academy. You are expected to attend at least 80% of the sessions in Kalmar or Växjö.

Job ready programme autumn 2023

The programme consists of seven workshops plus one introduction meeting and one evaluation meeting. More specific dates and time will be announced the 7th of September. Meetings during autumn will take place between 4 pm and 6 pm. Changes may occur.

Session 3: "Finding your labour market"

Session 4: "CV + Cover letter"

Session 5: "Personal branding + Interview skills"

Session 6: "Introduction to Swedish labour market" (online)

Session 7: Alumn talks (online)

Session 8: "Swedish recruiter talks"

Session 9: Final session- evaluation and FIKA.
