Housing

Housing

To prepare for your arrival and student life in Sweden, start searching for housing as early as possible. Finding a suitable option can take several months, depending on your preferences. Likewise, finding a place to stay during your time at Linnaeus University will look different depending on what type of student you are. The information on this website regarding housing is intended for international fee-paying and freemover students.

Please be aware that Linnaeus University does not own or provide any housing, so it is your responsibility to secure accommodation. We strongly recommend that you start looking for housing as early as possible, as availability can be limited. Make sure you have arranged a place to live before leaving your home country to ensure a smooth start to your studies.

Housing guidance

The Student Union Linnékåren can help you with information on how to search for a place to stay and provide you with information about the different housing options on campus Växjö and Kalmar. Keep in mind that it is your responsibility to secure housing before your arrival.

On the Student Union’s website, you can find a list of housing companies that offer student housing and/or housing for families. You may also find short term living, in case you haven’t found a place to stay before the start of the semester.

Renting a sublet

Are you considering renting a sublet? Unfortunately, there are some scams associated with subletting. Always make sure that the person who posted the ad is the actual tenant, and that they are authorised to let their place to someone else. Insist on seeing identification and on setting up a tenancy agreement. Another thing to keep in mind is to never make any payments before you have seen the place and signed the agreement.
