Information to you who use study support
You are responsible for familiarising yourself with the information regarding your support so that you can utilise the adaptations you require during your studies.
To access your support decision for study support, you must log in to the Nais website. There, you can view the support you have been recommended and /or granted, check the validity period of your decision, and download it as a PDF.
Your support decision also includes the name and contact details of the coordinator who issued it. If you need assistance from a coordinator, you should first contact the person who issued your decision. If that person is unavailable, you can reach the coordinators via our shared email address: funksam@lnu.se.
Adaptations for on-campus examinations
Registration and decision on adaptations
When you register for an on-campus examination in Ladok, you will receive an email from the examination system to your student email. This email contains a link to your personal page, where the adaptations for each registered examination session are displayed. You will only be able to see your adaptations once you have registered for an examination session.
You have the option to modify your adaptations throughout the registration period by logging into the Salstentamen system. Your examiner will automatically receive a notification about the recommended adaptations you request for the examination session. The examiner will then decide which adaptations can be granted, based on the course objectives. Once the examiner has made a decision regarding your adaptations, you will be informed via email about which adaptations have been approved and which have been denied.
Your examination room allocation will be communicated via email 4–6 days before the examination session.
If you have been granted the use of a computer, assistive software, or if a USB stick is needed to save your answers during an on-campus examination, the necessary equipment will be provided in the examination room. You are not permitted to use your own computer during an on-campus examination.
Your recommended adaptations for an on-campus examination will automatically be forwarded to the examiner only in case you have registered for the examination via Ladok. If you are taking an examination that does not require registration via Ladok, you must contact your examiner or course coordinator well in advance of the examination and present your support decision. In such cases, it is your department's responsibility to arrange the necessary adaptations.
Examination rules
During on-campus examinations, you should avoid wearing strong perfumes and refrain from bringing nuts, as there may be individuals in the room with allergies. To ensure you are well-prepared for your examination, please read the “Examination regulations” available on the page To take an examination at Linnaeus University | lnu.se .
Assistive software for on-campus examinations
If you have been recommended the use of assistive software, such as text-to-speech or spell-checking programmes, you must familiarise yourself with how they work before your examination. These assistive programmes can be found on the Support software | lnu.se. You must also know how to save your written examination onto a USB stick when using a computer for an on-campus examination.
Course literature for on-campus examinations
If you are permitted to bring course literature to an on-campus examination and require audiobook support, you must contact your coordinator and the University Library well in advance for further information. To use audiobook support during an examination, you must have been granted study support and have an approved audiobook account via Legimus. Learn more on the Reading disability | lnu.se page.
Taking an on-campus examination at another location
If you wish to take an on-campus examination at another location, it is your responsibility to apply for this. Your coordinator is not involved in the application process.
You can find information on how to apply in Section 3.7 Student requests for examination at a location other than Linnaeus University’s premises in Växjö and Kalmar, in the Local regulations for courses and examinations at the first- and second-cycle levels. To explore the possibility of receiving the adaptations you require during the examination, it is also your responsibility to contact your course coordinator (and present your support decision). Note! If you are enrolled in a programme offered by the Faculty of Technology | lnu.se, they have their own procedure for applying to take an examination at another location. Contact your course coordinator for further assistance.
Other recommendations for examinations or other course elements in your support decision
For examinations other than on-campus examinations, or if your course includes other elements requiring adaptations, you should contact the course coordinator or examiner well in advance – preferably at the start of the course. This may include, for example, extended time for take-home exams, adaptations for oral examinations, or adaptations in connection to group work. It is important to address this as early as possible to ensure that the examiner has sufficient time to decide on the necessary adaptations.
When emailing the course coordinator or examiner, please include the following information:
- Your first and last name
- The course code for the course in which you require adaptations
- A description of the adaptations you need and the specific element of the course they apply to
- A copy of your Support decision
Note-taking support and SmartPen
If you have been granted note-taking support and have any questions, please contact your coordinator or email funksam@lnu.se.
If your note-taking support is provided by another student on your course, that student must read the information HERE to ensure their payment is processed.
If you are borrowing a SmartPen, you are responsible for adhering to the “contract” established at the time of borrowing. When making audio recordings during a lecture, you must ask the lecturer for permission. If you do not already have this, ask your coordinator to add the recommendation “Audio recording for personal use” to your Support decision. Remember to return the pen when you no longer need it or when the loan period expires.

If you require any changes, additions, or cancellations regarding interpreting services, you must notify them as soon as possible.
