Those of you who intend to apply for a major research grant in the beginning of 2018 are strongly encouraged to submit a short project sketch (preferably not exceeding 2 pages) where you present your research assignment, questions, theories and methods. Please use the template of Vetenskapsrådet with the following headlines (for further instructions, see https://vr.se/inenglish/researchfunding/applyforgrants/callforproposals/closedgrants/researchprojectgranths.5.26af16d215268a259775778.html ):
Abstract (max 1500 characters, including spaces)
Purpose and aims: Present the overall purpose and specific objectives of the research project.
Survey of the field: Outline previous research, either conducted by yourself or by others, as well as earlier research results in the field. Provide key references.
Project description: Summarize the project by describing the theories, methods, time table and implementation. You should also describe the project organisation and clarify your own and any participating researchers' roles in the project. In this section, you may also include other researchers, who are not listed as participants in the application form.
Significance: Describe the project's significance to the research area.
Preliminary results: Describe your own experiments and pre-studies in the research area. If there are no preliminary results, this should also be stated.
It is not a requirement that you submit a project sketch, but doing so is a great opportunity for you to get feedback on your project ideas at an early stage of the process of writing your application. It will also be more rewarding if you invest some time in ahead of the workshop. Please send you project sketch to me (in word or pdf) no later than 18 September.
The project sketches will be circulated among the workshop participants beforehand, along with the papers for the mock review panel.
