Revisiting Fanon’s Legacy Now and Tomorrow

ANNUAL TALK, CLUSTER OF CULTURAL ENCOUNTER

Prof. Charles-Nicolas’s talk will focus on French revolutionary anticolonialist activist Franz Fanon and The Psychopathology of Colonialism and Racism.

Based on Fanon’s work Prof. Charles-Nicolas will be discussing what we call the “migrant crisis” in Europe, the racialization of our thought in the modern world, is it possible to heal from racism and alienation today, & the Trump phenomenon and racial tensions in America.

PROFESSOR AIME CHARLES-NICOLAS is Professor EMERITUS of psychiatry at the Faculty of Medicine of Antilles and editor-in-chief of “Annales Médico-Psychologiques. He participated in the creation of the Marmottan Hospital in Paris in 1971 and established hospital facilities in Paris and in Martinique.
