Exploring Virtual Reality as an effective learning tool
Niraj Chaudhary is a doctoral student at the department of informatics at Linnaeus University. He is an associate university librarian at the University of the Pacific, USA, where he provides leadership in development and implementation of technologies that enhances student learning. His latest research involves the use of drones, virtual reality, 360 cameras and 3D modeling in higher education.
Virtual Reality technologies are enabling new approaches to teaching, learning and research. They have the potential to be effective learning tools by increasing student interest and understanding of the content. This presentation will focus on examples of how Virtual Reality has been used in courses to enhance learning experiences at the University of the Pacific in California, USA. Student survey results on assessment of Virtual Reality as a learning tool will also be shared.
