Abstract
This talk will firstly introduce the main concepts of interactive data visualization with a special focus on information visualization and visual analytics. Here, I will also highlight the most important challenges, pros and cons of these technologies from several perspectives, for instance, how important (and often difficult) the close collaboration with domain experts is.
After providing a short outline of our overall research interests and existing projects in the ISOVIS research group at Linnaeus University, the most important research trends and an outlook on future work are depicted. All together I hope that this talk can serve as a starting point for discussions and potential collaboration plans.
