New glasses and thin films containing unprecedented nitrogen

In this seminar Sharafat Ali, Associate Professor in glass science and technology at Linnaeus University will provide an overview of the latest research development on nitrogen rich oxynitride glasses and thin films as hard, durable and strong material.

Sharafat will start giving an overview of silicon oxynitride glasses, preparation of these glasses by different techniques and variation of properties with the N and modifier cations contents. He will also talk about the new amorphous thin films in the M-Si-O-N systems containing high amount of a nitrogen and modifiers. Furthermore, mutual areas of research interest and the possibility of research collaboration will be deliberated.
