In this seminar Alf Månsson will talk about what they have done in the last year in three related projects. One of these aims to understand fundamental aspects of muscle function, particularly the mechanisms underlying the high resistance to stretch of active muscle. The second project aims to investigate mechanisms underlying the deleterious cardiac remodeling in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy the leading cause of sudden cardiac death in young people. Finally, the third project describes developments to facilitate the use of actin and myosin in nanotechnological applications, particularly biological parallel computation.
