Intermediality and Teaching: A one-day symposium
Linnaeus University Center for Intermedial and Multimodal studies invites you to a one-day symposium on “Intermediality and Teaching” to discuss the different dimensions of teaching intermediality and developing intermedial classrooms.
This event is in English.
In the media-saturated world that we are living in, it is perhaps not an exaggeration to speak of “intermedial literacy” as a fundamental concept in communication and education. What do we gain by teaching intermediality at different stages of education? How can intermediality inform the practice of teaching not only as a pedagogical subject, but even as a method for teaching?
This event follows the open-access publication of Intermedial Studies: An Introduction to Meaning Across Media, edited by Jørgen Bruhn and Beate Schirrmacher (Routledge, 2021). The event frames the book in the broader discussions of teaching and research in intermediality.
Deadline for registration:
- On-site participation: March 16
- Zoom Participation: March 22
For registration, please send an email to nafiseh.mousavi@lnu.se. Please indicate in your email whether you will be participating on-site in Växjö or online via zoom. In case of on-site presence, we would also like to receive information on any special dietary requirements you might have.
