Gaming Intermediality: New Methods for Studying Digital Games

Den 19-21 maj står Linnéuniversitetet värd för ”Gaming Intermediality: New Methods for Studying Digital Games”, en internationell workshop om studier av datorspel.

In English:

The workshop is spearheaded by Lund University in collaboration with Linnaeus University's Centre for Intermedial and Multimodal Studies, organised by Matilda Davidson (LNU), Anna Ischenko (LNU), Péter Kristóf Makai (UKW Bydgoszcz, Poland) and Jonathan Rozenkrantz (LU). The workshop has invited scholars seeking to devise new intermedial and multimodal frameworks for game studies, focusing on the challenges that the agency, interactivity and the perforative nature of the computer game medium poses to traditional methods of conduction intermedial research.

We are honoured to have Espen Aarseth (School of Creative Media, City University of Hong Kong) as a keynote speaker. The convenors of the workshop take pride in the exploratory nature of this enterprise, and expect for the invited scholars to bring their expertise across the arts to bear on such a crucial medium of meaning-making in our time.
