About the seminar
Lars Elleström’s model highlights the importance of virtual spheres in communication (2021) and truthfulness (2018) but until now they have not been widely explored in intermedial research. Meanwhile, digital technologies like augmented and virtual reality make the virtual even more immersive than ever. Polarized debates and conspiracy theories suggest that it is crucial to understand the power of the virtual. We invite you to read and discuss Elleström’s concept of virtual spheres and how it might be useful in your research. We will give a short introduction to the concept and suggest how virtual spheres might help us to understand how we engage with reality.
