Samburu Resistance to the British Colonial Rule: 1900–1963
Welcome to a higher seminar at the Department of Cultural Sciences!
From 18 to 22 May, Linnaeus University will host Peter Lemoosa, a historian and lecturer at Kenyatta University in Nairobi. Lemoosa specializes in pastoralism in East Africa and has taken a particular interest in the Samburu people’s relations with the British colonial administration. He is visiting through an Erasmus mobility exchange, but he is also part of Peter Skoglund’s research project Making rock art today – encounters with practicing Samburu rock art painters.
On Tuesday, 19 May, 13:15–15:00, Lemoosa will give a lecture at the KV's Higher Seminar entitled Samburu Resistance to the British Colonial Rule: 1900–1963.
The seminar will be held in English.
