Hans Grönqvist is a Professor of Economics at Linnaeus University since 2021. Grönqvist's research focuses on analyzing various social problems to help design more effective government policies. His work has been widely cited in media outlets.

His current research focuses on understanding various aspects of social and economic inequality, in particular issues related to child development, criminal behavior, and the effects of economic crises. 

Current teaching includes Public Economics (undergraduate), Econometrics (PhD), and Master's thesis course. He is also director of study for the PhD program in Economics. 

Grönqvist earned his Ph.D. in Economics from Uppsala University in 2009. Prior to coming to Linnaeus University he was Assistant Professor at SOFI, Stockholm University and Associate Professor (with tenure) at the Department of Economics, Uppsala University. He has also spent time as a visting scholar at Harvard University, University College London and Princeton University.
