Undervisar i logistik och supply chain management på avancerad nivå.

I sin forskning intresserar sig Helena för effektivisering, samverkan och innovation i försörjningskedjor särskilt inom transportbranschen, samt utveckling av cirkulära försörjningskedjor för återvinning av olika byggmaterial såsom fönsterglas.

Forskningen har resulterat i ca 120 vetenskapliga publikationer, varav 37 är publicerade i vetenskapliga tidskrifter inom området (t.ex. International Journal of Operations & Production Management och International Journal of Physical Distribution & Logistics Management). Hon är Senior Editor för Journal of Business Logistics.

Helena är forskningsledare för forskargruppen Supply Chain Studies. Nuvarande och tidigare forskningsprojekt är finansierade av TripleF, EU, Vinnova, Familjen Kamprads Forskningsstiftelse, Växjö Kommun, Handelns UtvecklingsRåd och Crafoordstiftelsen. Hon är också aktiv inom Logistikföreningen Plan.
