Jaime Campos is an Associate Professor in Informatics at Linnaeus University, Sweden. His research focuses on industrial informatics and human-centered digital transformation, with particular emphasis on decision support and on the design and interpretation of data-driven and AI-based systems in real-world contexts. His work has been applied primarily in industrial maintenance and asset management, as well as in healthcare settings, including eHealth applications.

His doctoral research was conducted within the EU-funded DYNAMITE (Dynamic Decisions in Maintenance) project, in collaboration with VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland. Within this project, he developed and evaluated decision-support applications based on web, mobile, embedded, and agent-based technologies for use in industrial maintenance and production environments.

His current work explores the integration of artificial intelligence, particularly machine learning and explainable AI (XAI), as well as emerging large language model–based approaches, into socio-technical decision-support systems that support organizational and business decision-making. His research places emphasis on interpretability, usability, and informed human decision-making in AI-enabled solutions, aiming to bridge advanced analytical methods with practical use in real-world organizational settings.

He is the author and co-author of numerous scientific publications in industrial informatics, maintenance and asset management, healthcare and eHealth, and applied data analytics, with contributions that include system design, decision-support methodologies, and applied AI in socio-technical and human-centered contexts. He has served as a keynote speaker and has undertaken editorial and reviewer roles for international journals and conferences. In addition, he is the coordinator of the Master’s Programme in Information Systems at Linnaeus University and teaches courses that include modules related to digital transformation, data analytics, decision support, and the application of AI in organizational and human-centered information systems.
