Sedan februari 2004 arbetar jag vid Växjö universitet/Linnéuniversitetet, först som lektor och sedan som professor. Jag är framförallt intresserad av grundforskning i matematik (se nedan), samt att min undervisning blir bra och ska hjälpa studenterna att lära sig ordentligt med matematik. Jag tror att gedigna ämneskunskaper är viktigast både för naturvetare i stort, ingenjörer och lärare. Med andra ord försöker jag hålla fanan högt för klassisk akademisk kunskap.
Det är med överväldigande glädje att jag numera arbetar på ett lärosäte där "Bli en Change Maker" är fundamentalt, ett motto byggt på akademisk brillians och kunskapsexellens. Tyvärr når jag själv inte upp till denna nivå. Förhoppningsvis blir jag bättre i framtiden.
Undervisning
Jag undervisar olika kurser i matematik.
Under min tid vid olika universitet har jag undervisat och haft kursansvar i matematikkurser från grundläggande nivå till doktorandkurser. Jag har bl a undervisat grundläggande matematik, envariabelanalys, flervariabelanalys, grundläggande algebra, linjär algebra, vektoranalys, komplex analys, abstrakt algebra, matematisk statistik, transformteori, mått och integrationsteori, funktionalanalys, distributionsteori, tidsfrekvensanalys med mera.
Forskning
Mycket i min forskning kretsar kring teorin för pseudodifferentialoperatorer, och närbegränsade områden såsom Fourieranalys, tidsfrekvensanalys, harmonisk analys, grundläggande operatorteori, generaliserade funktioner (distributionsteori inklusive Gelfand-Shilovrum och Gevreyklasser) och mikrolokal analys. Teorin för pseudodifferentialoperatorer härrör dels från kvantfysik och dels från teorin för partiella differentialekvationer. Idag är pseudodifferentialoperatorer viktiga i en mängd områden, bl a tidsfrekvensanalys och sannolikhetsteori.
I min forskning är metoder och frågeställningar inom funktionalanalys, harmonisk analys, operatorteori mer förekommande jämfört med vad andra gör inom pseudodifferentialkalkylen. Jag är även intresserad av att kunna tillämpningar, speciellt olika typer av vågfenomen, t ex tolkningar inom fysik, ickestationära filter i signalanalys och geofysik.
