Min forskning är fokuserad på virus som infekterar bakterier i marina miljöer. Virus påverkar bakteriers diversitet genom värdspecifik mortalitet och genöverföring och havets biogeokemiska cykler genom att de dödade bakterierna övergår till löst organiskt material.
Jag undersöker detta både med hjälp av arbete med enskilda, isolerade virus-värd system, samt studier av virusens produktivitet och diversitet på samhällsnivå.
