Undervisning
Karthikeyan Baskaran är docent vid Institutionen för medicin och optometri vid Linnéuniversitetet i Kalmar, Sverige. Han spelar en aktiv roll i undervisning och handledning av studenter på både grund- och avancerad nivå inom optometri, och främjar en stark grund i evidensbaserad praxis och klinisk excellens.
Forskning
Karthikeyan Baskaran disputerade i biomedicinska vetenskaper vid Linnéuniversitetet, Kalmar, Sverige, år 2012, följt av en postdoktoral tjänst vid Indiana University School of Optometry, USA. År 2016 tilldelades han det prestigefyllda Fellowship of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO) vid deras årliga möte i Anaheim, Kalifornien.
Hans forskningsintressen fokuserar på barns refraktiva utveckling, rehabilitering vid synnedsättning och näthinneavbildning, och han har bidragit med värdefulla insikter inom dessa centrala områden inom synvetenskap. Karthikeyan tog sin kandidatexamen i optometri vid Elite School of Optometry i Chennai, Indien, år 2004. Han har varit inbjuden talare vid konferenser och har författat flera publikationer i referentgranskade tidskrifter.
