I’m a doctoral researcher in musicology at the Linnaeus University department of Music and Art and Linnaeus University Centre for Intermedial and Multimodal Studies. I’m a part of the research school Future of Democracy: Cultural Analyses of Illiberal Populism at Times of Crises (FUDEM) along with doctoral students from four disciplines in five other Swedish universities.
I’m interested in the impact of music in audiovisual media and critical media literacy. My doctoral project (2023-) concerns the role of music in mainstream film as a sociopolitical tool. My material includes 21th century superhero films and their soundtracks.
