Saara är professor i företagsekonomi och ämnesansvarig professor i entreprenörskap vid Linnéuniversitetet. Saaras forskningsintressen ligger vid koppling mellan vardagen och innovation, gränsvillkor av kreativitet och management, och roller för affektiva nätverk i postindustriell ekonomi. Saaras forskning fokuserar för närvarande på spelandes roll i skapande av entreprenöriella nätverk, och effekten av generativ AI i arbetsorganisationer. Hennes forskning har publicerats i tidskrifter som Entrepreneurship and Regional Development, Management and Organizational History, Philosophy of Management och International Journal of Management Concepts and Philosophy.
Saara var innehavare av Linnéuniversitetets IKEA-professur (2011-2019), som var inriktad mot innovation and livet hemma. Professuren var placerad inom företagsekonomi, och fokuserat på bryggan mellan kundens behov och produktionens villkor.
