Sabri Pllana
UniversitetslektorSabri Pllana är docent vid institutionen för datavetenskap och medieteknik vid Linnéuniversitetet. Innan han kom till Linnéuniversitetet arbetade han under 12 år vid Research Group Scientific Computing vid Universität Wien i Österrike. Han har en doktorsexamen (med distinction) i datavetenskap från Technische Universität Wien.
Undervisning
Studenter som är intresserade av en kandidat- eller masterexamen ska ha genomfört en kurs i parallella beräkningar (2DV605 eller motsvarande). Ett exempel på ett avslutat projekt inom parallella beräkningar i en masterexamen är Accelerated Deep Learning using Intel® Xeon Phi™.
Forskning
Sabri Pllana är ledare för forskargruppen High Performance Computing Center (HPCC) vid Linnéuniversitetet. Hans forskningsintressen innefattar heterogena datorsystem och kognitiva beräkningstekniker. Han studerar även egenskaper hos olika typer av socio-tekniska system (bland annat hälsovårdssystem) med hjälp av innovativa modellerings- och simuleringstekniker. Han har bidragit till flera EU-finansierade projekt och samordnade projektet PEPPHER inom FP7 (EU:s sjunde ramprogram).
